Full description

A thin section was cut through a rose stem and viewed under a polarised light microscope. Introducing a retarder into the light-path interferes with the light to give the colours seen (which have not been altered in Photoshop). The individual cells in the centre of the stem can clearly be seen.

These elegant and useful mirrors measure 65mm x 74mm (including latch and hinges) and are 8mm thick. They are supplied in a small box, including a description of the image, making them ideal as a gift.

They open to reveal a mirror on each side and are ideal to keep in your bag to ensure you always look your best!

The image has been printed using the dye sublimation process, meaning that the image actually penetrates the surface, resulting in a high gloss scratch resistant finish.

These mirrors make interesting and unusual gifts for anyone, including people interested in science and the natural world around us. Or just treat yourself!
