Archaeology has always held a fascination for me. I was surrounded by books about it during my childhood because my mother was studying it.

Full description
This piece is based on one of my favourite objects from the Royal albert Memorial Museum in Exeter, Devon, where I spent many happy hours volunteering and working. The oak original, some 13 inches high dates from the Bronze Age and was found at Kingsteignton. There is a theory that it depicts the Norse God Thor. It's a precious find as so little wood survives in damp Britain. Imagine my surprise when I went round the corner at Archaeon in Holland (a fabulous archaelogical theme park - DO GO) and came face to face with a 6 foot wooden replica! I've textured the copper to resemble the wood grain. Strung on a brown woven cotton thong. Comes to you in a gift bag with designer logo label.
