All the work we make is produced in our studio pottery on the edge of the South Downs in rural West Sussex. It is here that we design all our pieces and make them by hand either on a potter’s wheel or by sculpturing from slabs of clay. The work is then decorated with our own glazes.

The design process can take 6-9 months of trial and error to get the form of the piece precisely how we wish. The glazes too can take many months of painstaking research to get the effect that will best complement the form.

It is only with this way of working that we can produce work which has the character we want and hopefully will be appreciated by those that own one of our pots

Full description

A classically shaped raku teardrop vase decorated with a silver/purple glaze showing beautiful variegated colours. The vase has a stripped black unglazed band to emphasise the balance of the piece.

This lovely bottle is hand thrown on a wheel, fired once and then glazed. The raku process then involves plunging the hot (1000oC!) glazed pots into sawdust. This combustion process gives each pot a unique character with luster and crackle effects. The clay body starts off white but unglazed areas are turned black by the smoke, these black areas are designed to accentuate the form and contrast with the bright colours of the glaze.

So with each pot you can be assured of a beautiful one-off piece as a special gift or just a treat for you.
