applique & embroidered canvas – very fancy zombie lady.
based on an original drawing by Little Black Heart, this piece is entirely made by me on a domestic sewing machine.
this undead beauty is wearing a fancy empire line dress in hand dyed silks, the dress is purple, with turquoise sleeves and pink detail to the cuffs & bodice.
her long flowing hair, and the air around her, is decorated with tiny silk blossoms.
her red eyes contrast with her deathly pale blue linen skin & her eyeballs are hand embroidered.
the fabrics are layered and appliqued onto pre-washed calico, and the intricate details drawn on with free machine (free motion) embroidery.
this piece is stretched over a canvas frame, that measures approximately 25cm x 30cm (10” x 12”)
