Full description
This glasses case features a sunny, coastal scene, of a lighthouse at sea, embroidered onto a felted background.
A wide variety of fancy yarns have been 'felted' to a commercial felt background by the use of an embellisher machine. The lighthouse, sea pinks, yellow poppies and grasses have been added by embroidery. Machine stitching in a 'shallow zig zag' criss-crosses the background to stabilise the felting.
The top edge of the case is finished in blanket stitch, using a pale blue crochet cotton. The case closes with a crocheted loop, also in the pale blue crochet cotton, over a vintage blue button. The case is lined with a blue and white striped fabric.
