This yarn wants to move! All through spinning it, I had images in my mind of a glittering calm sea, sunkissed and whisked gently into white tips by a breeze, lapping along a bleached sandy beach. Then I remembered where I had seen just such a beach; on a visit to St Ives in Cornwall in the far west of England, and that is the inspiration for the name of this gorgeously sensual yarn. The colours in the photo really don't do this yarn justice, it is more greeny-blue than it looks.
There is enough here to make a beautiful shawl, and the yarn tells me that is what it craves to be. Add a few beads for extra sparkles and weight, and the drape of this knitted fabric is awesome. May I suggest a pattern with scallop edges or lace fans to really show off the gentle pastel colour variations.
