This was my second ever pastel painting, so really does hold a special place in my heart, especially as it did so well. I started painting with pastels after my youngest started school, and loved every second. I was drawn to the beautiful colours and the dramatic background, which isn't a flat black as it appears, but layers of dark green and purple.
