Full description
Bright red poppies, hand-embroidered against a felted cornfield, background decorate the front of this very pretty little bag.
Sky blue wool fibers have been felted to a background of 'eco' felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles). A wide variety of yarn snippets have been added to represent the corn and grasses. Daisies, distant poppies and ears of corn are stitched in cottons. Silk ribbon is used to stitch poppies in the foreground.
The back of the bag has been knitted in a soft, pure wool yarn which self patterns through several 'golden cornfield' shades this has then been fulled (felted).
The top edge of the bag is finished in blanket stitch, in matching crochet cottons. The strap is a length cord in shades of cream and white. The bag closes with a loop of crocheted cod from a pale blue, pure wool yarn over a button covered in knitting in a mid-blue - to coordinate with the harvest sky. The bag is lined with a cotton-mix fabric of a white print on a cream background. The lining is given body by using iron-on interfacing. Loops, cut from the lining fabric, and each carrying a split ring, are securely stitched - one into each side seam of the lining. These will provide extra security for your keys, purse or anything else that may have a securing loop or ring.
