Kodama is one of the first designs in my yokai range. I was reading a Japanese comic when I learnt about yokai and was so intrigued that I investigated further and then decided I just had to make my own versions and thought that amigurumi would be a good way to do it.

Full description
In a nutshell, 'yokai' is a Japanese word for monsters and spiritual beings from folklore. They can be good or bad, lucky or mischievious, they can look like animals, humans or even inanimate objects.
Kodama is a tree spirit. If you care for their tree they'll bring you good fortune but if you ever cut their tree down they're likely to bring you bad luck as punishment.
This Kodama measures 12cm (4.7 inches) tall and the head is 8cm (3.1 inches) wide. They come with a printed tag that has an illustration on the front and their description on the inside so that you won't forget who they are or if they're a gift the person receiving it can read about them.
In Japanese 'ami' means crochet or knitted and 'nuigurumi' means stuffed doll. Combine them and you get amigurumi in all its kawaii glory!
