My trauma work with clients has been my inspiration for these pieces. When traumatic memories are triggered it is extremely difficult to recall coping strategies in that moment as the brain goes offline. Having a physical reminder, on your person, can help bring one back into the present. Mindfulness regards the present, rather than the past or future and the attention is non-judgmental and accepting, without thinking that the experience of the present moment is good or bad, right or wrong, important or not. 
In practicing mindfulness, one can becomes more aware of your current internal and external experiences, observes them carefully, accepts them, and allows them to be let go of in order to attend to another ‘present moment experience’. 
I am also just saving these beautiful objects from being melted down into oblivion....
