I love upcycling and breathing new life into beautiful vintage items, especially blankets. When I find a new one, it inspires me with ideas of what embellishments I may use.

Full description
A lovely lilac, vintage Witney wool blanket, onto which I have hand-stitched complimentary patchwork in blues and lilacs. There is a triangular patchwork shape in each corner and three shapes which I think are like snowflakes running vertically down the centre.
This would make a lovely present or housewarming gift (if you could bear to part with it) - pretty and practical. The pictures don't really pick up the colour very well - it is a really pretty lilac. Could be used as an extra layer on the bed or to put over your legs when snuggling on the sofa on a cold evening!
Definately the biggest blanket I have worked on! It more than covers my standard double bed, as you can see from the picture, so I think it's kingsize. I would suggest specialist clean - bit risky to machine wash now it has all the patchwork sewn on.
(PLEASE REMEMBER that this is a vintage blanket, in FAIR VINTAGE CONDITION. It has been cleaned, but I have noticed a few faint stains, the largest on the reverse a few centimetres across, but still not really noticeable.)
