This design has come about from my interest in ancient folklore and motifs used in the arts & crafts movement. Beautiful yet simple design using traditional techniques

This pendant, on a 16" sterling silver chain, was inspired by the old folklore and country wisdom of the northern hemisphere.
Before the use of the calendar we use today the year was divided in to 12 moons that were described by what was happening in the natural world/countryside at the time. The month of january is pictured.
Jan - wolf moon
feb - ice moon
march - storm moon
april - pink moon
may - flower moon
june - strawberry moon
july - hay moon
aug - corn moon
sept - harvest moon
oct - hunter's moon
nov - snow moon
dec - winter moon
At the centre of the approx. 20mm wide circle there is a small hand cut crescent moon. Around the circle there is hand punched writing that says 'under a ....... moon' (the blank space is filled by the name of the month that you would like).
You could have the month you were born or married, or just a month that has a special memory.
Each pendant has been completely designed and made by hand in my studio in Bath, UK using traditional jewellery techniques. These are my own original designs, be original yourself and please don't copy my designs, thank you.
