Full description
This wood goes by many names including Kerosene Tree, Snottygobbles and Narrow-leafed Bird Lime Tree. In ancient Hawaii it was used to make bowls and utensils as it did not flavour the food. Here it is presented to you in the form of a beautiful nib pen.
We prefer to know where our wood has come from and that it has not meant the loss of another beautiful tree! We are very aware that commercial felling is an evil to be avoided and when we use rare or exotic woods, as here, we ensure only to buy timber from reputable sources. By using timber from managed sites we can ensure that what trees are removed are replaced and usually multiplied for long term management.
Your pen will be presented in a plain black box. It is supplied with a standard nib, but this can easily be replaced with one of your own as with any nib pen barrel.
Please note that each pen is individually made and whilst turned to the same pattern, if you buy more than one you will notice they are not identical in shape. We feel this adds to the unique charm of handmade items, but if you are looking to buy a pair please let us know so we can select two closest in shape.
