My garden has always been a great source of inspiration for me in my work. Parts of it are quite wild and in one such area there is a beautiful clump of poppies. The shades of red from brightest orange through reds to the deep burgundy red of the older flowers and the gorgeous papery thin delicate petals inspired this scarf design.

The Poppies Design scarf has fabulous poppy flowers scattered along scarf. A Neck Scarf is the perfect size to wear in the neck of a jacket or jumper. It is a truly gorgeous scarf and will hopefully give you years of pleasure and become a favourite, much admired accessory. This design is one of my signature designs and over 20 years of design development, love and care have gone into creating what I hope is a stunning work of 'wearable art'. The Poppies Design scarf is exclusive to Designer Silk and makes a wonderful present that will appeal to every woman on any occasion - or simply 'just because'!
Your scarf was created using the finest Habotai 8 silk renowned for its high quality and ability to drape beautifully. I started by pinning the silk from a bolt of silk onto a frame tailored to the size of the scarf. Using the serti technique I drew the gold coloured outline onto the silk and then the black accents in the centres of the flowers. When the outline was dry I hand painted each flower using specialist silk paint in vibrant reds to dramatic black and then the background. The scarf was completed by heat fixing the design, I then rolled and hand stitched the entire hem, adding my own designer label. Each scarf is unique and is a truly original, 100% handmade item by me!
The scarf measures 135 cm x 25 cm approx. Slight variations may occur due to the handmade nature of this item. All my scarves are hand washable with care and are gift wrapped.
