After repairing the hinges and sanding down the lid, I chose a twig of oak with leaves and acorns I had picked up on my walk that day for the subject.

This lovely old box has been deeply pyrographed with acorns and oak leaves, which I have then painted gold.
The box has two hinges at the back, and has been lined with green felt inside. It is quite a shallow box, about 10" wide.
