Item details

This piece is cut by hand using a very fine saw blade. It is sterling silver with a soldered textured brass circular 'moon' on it. As you can see from the pics this pendant is reversible so turn this necklace over and inlaid on the other side is a circular 'sun' made from copper (technique called puzzle inlay). The silver on the brass side is smooth and shiny on the copper side it is textured. Two necklaces for the price of one! All my jump rings are soldered closed too.

This pendant comes with a 18 inch sterling silver chain (chains will be a 925 sterling silver trace chain as shown in my other pics not shown here so please do check out before purchasing).

Next door to me is a disused barn that is falling apart. Every summer at least one pair of Swifts come build their mud and straw nests and their chicks hatch here - it is amazing to watch them come and go bringing food for their young. Watching them grow and develop, until finally they are ready to fly. I am keenly aware of the birds coming and going - it really marks the passing of seasons for me and I wanted to catch something of their shape and movement.
