Full description

A pretty moorland scene of heathers, bracken and windswept trees has been hand-stitched to the cover of this needle book.

Sky blue wool fibers have been felted to a background of kunin felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles). Fibers, in shades of heather and lime green, have been added to represent the moor. Snips of wool and 'teased out' snippets, have been felted in place to represent distant trees and new bracken fronds. Stitching in fine cotton has been added to the sky to 'stabilise' the felting. Ferns and heathers, in the foreground, have been embroidered in simple stitches using cotton threads. French knots represent distant clumps of heather.

The cover is edged with blanket stitch. The needle book is lined with a printed cotton fabric in shades of pink - backed with interfacing. Two pieces of felt are folded to provide four 'pages' to hold your pins and needles and are securely stitched in place. The needlebook ties closed with crocheted cords. A matching pincushion is listed separately.

Height: 9 cm approx

Please note: pins are not included with this item.
