We love vintage colours, patterns, fashion and design, so we try to incorporate them as much as we can in our creations. We like to look through markets and auctions mainly for little gems of the past, in this way also re-using and recycling materials. This little stool was purchased at a market and it was looking old and tired. We have restored and updated it in the hope of giving it another lease of life. For this we have chosen to follow the French shabby chic style. As a result, we have turned a neglected vintage item into a very eye-catching decorative yet functional piece, that will bring a bright vintage touch to your home.

Full description
This is a pettite vintage footstool with a drawer, which has been lovingly restored. The cushioned top has been fully re-upholstered using a beautiful piece of vintage St Michael (Made in Britain!!) open weave cotton fabric, consisting of a white background with a green and blue Paisley pattern print. This fabric dates back to the 60s/70s and is in pristine condition. The cushion is finished off around the edges with a niece piece of golden yellow trimming.
The pine wooden framework has a little drawer and moulded legs. This has been painted white and sanded back in parts to give a distressed shabby chic look and to highlight the shape and mouldings of the stool. The white frame has also been given several coats of French polish and finished off by waxing.
This is a really cute little stool that can function as a nice place to rest your feet, with a little bit of storage as an added bonus. We think that it would look great as a decorative feature in any living room and particularly suited for a girl's room.
