Full description
A black and white image of a hare has been transfer printed onto a 3'' silver birch wood slice and tied with hemp string to create this tree charm.
I create my items using hand sawn logs Silver Birch logs. The images are all sourced online and are mostly vintage and copyright free drawings and black and white photos. I am drawn to images of nature: trees, birds, leaves etc, but also unusual and quirky images - alchemy symbols and optical patterns for example.
This item is supplied fitted with a silver screw eye and hemp strings and wooden beads to enable you to hang it from a nail or door handle etc.
I take great care when making each wood slice - they are carefully sanded smooth before applying the transfer print and hand finishing with matt varnish. Each one is unique and if I am not 100% happy with it it does not make it onto my Folksy shop pages!
