This Stained Glass Lighthouse with Crofters Hut Sun Catcher is intended to evoke a landscape of a bright red and white lighthouse and granite crofters hut beside a aquamarine sea. This beautiful light catcher is richly coloured and glows beautifully in the sun.
This one is made to order, so please allow about ten days to make.
I have used best quality glass of different textures and effects, combining red and iridescent white for the lighthouse, grey and brown for the hut, streaky brown and green for the rocks, vivid sunshine yellow for the light and streaky blue for the sky to stunning effect. This is real stained glass not painted on!
Lighthouse with Crofters Hut is created using the traditional Tiffany technique and the solder is finished off with a black patina. The exterior is encased with a lead frame to give it extra strength, and finally, it is all polished up with carnauba wax to give everlasting shine.
Approx 22 x 17 cm (9 x 6.5 in), it comes ready to hang with two soldered rings and a chain.
I am a British maker working from my home-based studio, overlooking meadow and woodland in a picturesque Surrey village. I take my inspiration from many sources including nature, the surrounding countryside, the Arts & Craft movement, and, of course, the glass itself.
