Full description
This beautiful one-of-a-kind 'Pot' (I feel I need to find a grander word for such loveliness!) was a real pleasure to make. I have wanted to try my hand at fabric homeware for a little while, and embroidery is developing into a new passion of mine.
The design features small appliqued birds on an embroidered branch with delicate leaves in shades of red and pink, with a scattering of pale pink blossoms. You can see the same design on my embroidered Mini Poppins Handbag.
The green tweed wool fabric has a subtle herringbone weave, with tiny pale specks. It is a beautiful fabric, even without the embroidery!
The lining is bright fuchsia linen, and between the layers of fabric is a compressed wool-felt which gives this item it's structure. I have also inserted a firrm base (hidden between the layers of fabric and interlining).
The pot is 14cm tall, with a base width of 11cm. A lovely size for storing trinkets or pens. You can see from the photos that it also looks sweet with a simple jar of flowers inside.
