Foxes are such beautiful animals, and having lived in cities all my life, they are one of the few mammals that I get to see regularly. I love the idea of a cosy little cottage in the snow. And a foxy fox, a glowing moon and some glittering stars, a little Christmas folk tale, waiting to be told!

Full description
Stargazing - signed original hand pulled linocut print, printed onto somerset cartridge (130gsm) with oil based inks.
This is an original two block, reduction lino cut print. It's one of a very limited edition of just 9 prints. After printing a number of 'Fox in the Night' prints, a friend suggested the addition of an extra bright, twinkly star in the sky. Luckily I still had a few of my first colour block prints left to add this extra feature to. I recut the block and added the bright star. This print is signed, titled and editioned along the bottom in pencil.
The tradition of linocut is a relief printing method in which pieces of lino are cut away using special carving tools to create a design. The lino block is then inked up using a roller, and printed onto paper either by hand or using a traditional printing press. It's an entirely manual process, so some slight differences in the prints are to be expected. Each of these prints is the result of two separate blocks being carefully carved and printed, each new colour after the previous layer has had a day or more to dry.
