Oh how I long for summer again. As I sit by my fire spinning in the evenings my thoughts turn to the cottage garden plants and herbs I will grow this summer. Some will be for beauty, some for eating, some for incense making and some for natural dying. Lavenders, Rosemary, Calendula, Chives, Comfrey, Daisies and more.

Additional terms
I handspin my yarns from a mixture of British and merino wool tops combined with various fibres, ribbons etc. Each listing should contain details of the Yarn contents though occasional stray fibres may slip into the blend from the drum carding process. Please note that items that are described as 2 and 3 ply describes the composition of the yarn and not the knitting gauge. Each listing will give a commercial equivalent gauge/weight so that you can match yarn to patterns. I do accept orders for custom items but as everything is handmade please be aware that processes like carding, spinning, weaving, dying etc. cannot be rushed. If you contact me with your requirements I will endeavour to quote a realistic time frame for the work you require. I try to ensure the colours of my yarns and woven items are well represented in the photographs but as computer monitors vary there could be some slight tonal differences. If the yarn is really not what you expected I will of course refund or replace as mentioned previously. Handspun items are made from Wool and therefore care needs to be taken when washing. I recommend a cool handwash, pulling to reshape and flat drying. Most of the dyes used are colour fast but its probably best to wash items on their own at least for the first wash. Everything is made within a non smoking home environment, I do have a pet dog but he is kept in a different part of my property and I always ensure I have clean hands when working with my fabrics, fibres and fleeces.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
I handspun thisyarn on my Louet s10 spinning wheel from British Wool and some blended merino. I had been at the coast and wanted to make something with lots of texture that reminded me of mermaids.
I love to create unique art yarns and it was great fun to make this. First I handspun a single which included blends oflots of cottage garden colours and another from a lovely leaf green. Then I plyed them together to create a lovely soft yarn which included greens, purples, reds, pinks, yellows and lots of graduated colours between.
Following spinning all my yarns are skeined, washed, set and stretched to make them permanent . I hope you like this yarn.
