Full description
A tactile attractively shaped wooden box for trinkets, small pieces of jewellery or for a man's cufflinks, tiepins etc. it measures 3.75in x 3.5in x 3.5in. The sides made from Spalted Maple, the body and lid are Sycamore and Tulipwood and the handle is also Tulipwood. Red cotton velvet is used for the lining. Wooden pivots at the rear enable the lid to open smoothly.
Spalting occurs when the tree is attacked by fungus it usually results in brown or black streaks in the wood, the attractive red colour in this Maple is uncommon.
