On one of my regular searches for vintage fabric I came across this amazing piece. It is always difficult to show the beauty of material in a photographic images but this really needs to be seen to be appreciated. Each tiny turn of the light picks up another dimension to the image. This cushion can be displayed easily in any room where it can be assured to take pride of place and give a strong lift to a fading decor.

This absolutely stunning image is a vintage 1950’s Japanese kimono obi fabric. It is extremely rare and there was only enough material to create one individual cushion. It is of exceptional quality and design showing flower motifs embroidered with silk threads on gold woven fabric. The bright red flowers stand out in contrast to the delicate but just as beautiful soft gold chrysanthemums in the background. A truly unique and beautiful home furnishing item. It is backed in an excellent 100% cotton fabric to ensure that the whole item is of the highest quality.
Every cushion fastens with an invisible zip for removal of inner pad and ease of cleaning. Due to the age of the vintage material and the different types of fabric used in designs, dry cleaning is recommended for the majority of items. Each cushion is supplied with a polypropylene cushion inner filled with polyester hollow fibre which complies with safety regulations. The Flammable Fabrics Act of 1953 protected the vintage fabric at that time but no guarantee is given that the cushion covers comply with modern safety standards now. It is recommended that a fire retardant spray be applied.
