I wanted to make a book that allowed this wonderful leather to be appreciated just for itself. This book feels wonderful to hold and will be a joy to use!

Full description
A single-section leather journal or notebook (also called a "chapbook"), with a hand-sewn binding. An ideal Christmas gift for a male friend or relative.
The book has a soft leather ("limp") cover, in dense black. The leather is very high quality, being originally tanned for upholstery use. It feels warm and beautiful in your hands. I left it unlined, in its natural state, because it is so lovely on its own!
Inside are 48 pages of beautiful cream paper, with a "laid" finish. The paper is also of the highest quality and very crisp. It will take all dry media and would even cope with a little paint, so long as it wasn't very wet. The pages have hand-torn edges, which look very attractive.
There is a tie fastening, created with a square glass bead. The bead is black, with a dichroic strip through the center, in aqua and green. It is attached with a fine strip of teal suede, to contrast with the black leather and pick out the colour in the bead. A second teal suede strip is attached to the back cover and wraps round the bead keeping the book closed.
The book is hand bound with contrasting green Austrian linen thread, which is waxed, for strength and durability.
The book measures approx 7.75 x 5.25 ins ( 19.5cm x 13cm)
The price includes Postage and packing to UK addresses. A reasonable amount is added, to allow for the difference in cost of posting abroad.
