This leather is a joy to work with. The tanning process retains much of the character of the original skin. Unlike mass produced leather belts with a bland, uniform surface, the natural marks and scars the cow had in life are visible, and make each belt completely unique. I get to know every square inch of the belt, in the several hours that it takes to make.
These belts are hand made from traditionally tanned bridle leather, from J & FJ Baker of Devon, the last remaining traditional tanner in England, on a site that has been a tannery since Roman times. The finest quality hides are prepared using English oak bark, in a process that takes over a year to produce the leather. They are thick, strong, and packed with oils and waxes. This leather is gorgeous – the smell, feel, and look are amazing.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
The belts are 1.25” wide, with a nickel plated buckle, hand stitched with natural linen thread, and punched with oval holes at 1" spacing, normally six in total, with the specified size being hole number 3.
You generally need a belt that is 2” bigger than your trouser waist size, but the best method is shown in the diagram above. Please specify the belt length that you want when you get to the PayPal checkout. I will contact you in any case to confirm.
The belts are custom made, so please allow up to three weeks for delivery, though it is often less. Belts are sent via Royal Mail Recorded Second Class, or International Signed For.
Please let me know if you don’t see a width or colour that you want, or if you have any other questions.
Delivery: Royal Mail 2nd class signed for.
