This unique creative activity contains a craft project and extension activities for fun and learning. Two A4 card sheets slot together to assemble four Victorian rooms - the kitchen, the bedroom, the parlour and the toy room. There are objects to copy or collage, pictures on the walls to fill, ornate fabrics to design and wallpapers to choose.
Another sheet has figure outlines to dress, lightly drawn for you to use and to bring your house to life. Who are they? They might be the rich residents or the servants who work there? To build on your knowledge of Victorian times there are two pages of information about living in this era and extension activities about the way the people lived, web sites to visit, stories of famous Victorians and some parlour games to play with your friends and family.
Also included is an inventive collage bag of papers and bits - including fabrics and wallpaper - and a packet of crayons to help you. You can also use magazines and books to further inspire you.
The Victorian House activity is parent friendly being easy enough for most children to do on their own, though they may need a little help with the reading and some extra ideas to bring the Victorian times to life!
