Must admit green is my favourite colour and I had acquired lots of lovely beads in all shades of green and textures. I wanted to create a necklace that I certainly could never find in the shops. Each bead with a history of its own. Sorely tempted to keep for myself but have resisted!

This necklace of green beads, really is 'green' and recycled. This is a completely unique piece of jewellery with a history. It is made from beads that I have bought in charity and second hand shops. I have then reworked and redesigned the beads into a completely new piece of jewellery, every bead coming from a multitude of different necklaces and bracelets. If only each bead could talk and tell us who has owned it before. The beads seem to be a mixture of glass, plastic, wood and I think a few semi-precious. Obviously because I haven't bought them from source I cannot be sure of the materials.
They are strung on wire and have a silver-plated toggle. They have two strands leading to one strand at the neck. The necklace sits nicely on the chest. When opened it is 56 cm /22 inches long but will sit a little lower than this suggests as it is double-stranded.
