A lovely piece of felt, created from a variety of hand-dyed fibers in the from of a cornfield, has been hand-embroidered with a lovely sprinkling of poppies and distant daisies and buttercups and has then been hand-stitched to produce this very pretty and unique needlecase. The needlecase is entirely hand-stitched to maximise the beauty of the embroidered felt.
Sky blue wool fibers have been felted to a background of kunin felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles. A wide variety of yarn snippets, carefully collected from other yarn projects, have been added to represent the cornfield. Stitching in fine cotton has been added to the sky to 'stabilise' the felting. The needle book is edged in blanket stitch using threads to match the areas of the design. Simple embroidery stitches have been used to add distant daisies and buttercups. The poppies have been stitched in a mixture of embroidery threads and silk ribbon to add perspective.
The needlebook is lined in a white polka spots on pale grey cotton fabric, backed with iron-on interfacing and blanket stitched to the cover. Two pieces of cream felt are folded and securely stitched in place, to provide four 'pages' for your needles and pins. The needlecase closes with a bow tied in crocheted cords produced from a yarn in 'cornfields' shades.
