I have a lovely beech tree in my back garden that changes colour with the seasons, and i find that really inspiring.I've been making mosaics for some years now and i really loved the idea of making four connected but unique pictures and putting them to coasters, so they became not only decorative but also usable - and in that thought coaster art was born!

Handcrafted mosaic coasters of the changing seasons, or a year in the life of a tree.
The coasters are 10cm x 10cm approx and just under 1cm in thickness.
I mosaic on hand cut mdf board using ceramic and glass tiles. Each tile is cut and shaped then grouted and sealed with enamel on the sides of the coasters to protect them. i also seal the bottom of the coaster then apply cork for added protection.
These coasters are handmade from beginning to end and each process takes a considerable length of time so i can be happy in the knowledge that i am selling a beautiful unique hand crafted design.
