This handmade notebook was made from a 100% cotton fabric that has images of garden implements printed on it with an orange-red background. I have appliquéd the words “Garden Notebook” which have been printed on linen on to the front cover. I hand stitched the seven signatures together using red hemp twine. The fabric has been glued to the grey boards. The spine has been left exposed because I think it is a nice feature.
The unusual paper used for this journal came from the Exotic Paper Co. Ltd and it is made from recycled consumer waste with the added ingredient of Rhino poo.
There are irregularities with this handmade notebook; the cutting and folding of the paper is not perfectly flush.
This handmade notebook would make an ideal birthday gift, or Christmas present for someone who loves to garden, and enjoys writing and recording their garden notes and collecting photos and pictures of all things garden related. It is a lovely, very useful and practical handmade notebook.
Measurements: Journal is A5 size, 15cm (6ins) x 21.5cm (8.5ins) with 110gsm 100% recycled paper, 60 pages. Sizes are approximate.
