I am temporarily opening this shop for the christmas period to sell the last few items I have in stock and some items that are reduced in price due to slight imperfections that will be visible in the each items listing photos.

All my designs try and achieve a unique, simplistic aesthetic based on preconceived proportions from the wood i find at my local woodyard. I wanted to recreate a house staple by adding unique functionality and adapting it to work more efficiently in a modern home.
This was done by observing how modern homes work including mine and thinking what could be added to aid daily life and help organise that life. I also wanted the design to evoke a uniqueness through the wood choice.
Ash wood is used due to its light weight properties and stunning grain pattern (Swathes of reddy browns give a vivid colour along the grain or subtle khaki, olivey greys wash through the heart). Sustainability of this great wood is still high even though our poor old Ash trees are under attack from Chalara Fraxinea virus (ash dieback).

Norfolks outdoor lifestyle inspires the multi purpose wooden coat rack, store all your belongings between long walks on the beach or countryside.This contemporary handmade coat rack combines a traditional wall hung coat rack with a simple but ingenious slot on the wall plate which can be used to store all manner of items,pictures or notes that need to be close to hand or posted/sorted out in the working week. it natural suits an active lifestyle.
why not add one of my unique douglas fur cubes to your coat rack with a screw thread peg (all sold within my shop) to add an extra functional/decorative dimension to this multi purpose design.
Made from solid locally sourced English Ash wood, the seven shaped pegs simply screw into the back plate to provide a firm footing for coats, bags or scarfs etc. This ingenious screw thread system is used so you can add or take away pegs depending on how you want to use the rack.
The coat rack measures 600mm long, 140mm tall and 21mm deep, with the pegs protruding approximately 95mm and 85mm from the back plate.
It is finished in danish oil to provide a deep low gloss sheen, enhance the grain and protect the design through its use.
simply fixed to any solid wall with three screws (not supplied) Due to the nature of the wood being used each one will appear slightly different to the one in the photos. But this only adds to the unique quality of this handmade design.
