I love upcycling and breathing new life into beautiful vintage items, especially blankets. When I find a new one, it inspires me with ideas of what embellishments I may use.

A pretty, vintage Witney, all-wool blanket, onto which I have hand-stitched patchwork, doilies and flowers with my own fair hands!
Would make a lovely Christmas or birthday present (if you could bear to part with it) - pretty and practical. Could be used as an extra layer on the bed or to put over your legs when snuggling on the sofa on a cold evening!
It's quite large - covers a double bed nicely as you can see from the picture. I would suggest specialist clean - bit risky to machine wash now it has all the extra bits sewn on.
(Please remember that this is a vintage blanket, in GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION. I have washed it but it has a couple of faint marks.)
