This is a chunky wood bangle, upcycled and decoupaged with a vintage ordnance survey map featuring Windermere in the Lake District. A perfectly poetic and romantic present. I like the map to flow around the bangle to show special and favourite places.
This is made using a non-toxic sealant and glue. It feels smooth to touch a bit like plastic. It may show the original folds from the map or some light, small creases from where I have folded the map around the bangle. It just adds to the unique craft look.
It probably would be best to keep it away from water.
The diameter measures 7 1/2 cm

I love the look of vintage maps. They are emotive, a reminder of a favourite holiday, special day out or home town. I like the patterns that are made from the roads, hills, railway lines and country paths. They remind me of relaxing days walking in the sunshine listening to the birds singing.....
I have made these for friends and they love them. A unique and special gift.
