Welcome to Textile Treasures by Heidi Meier
I was inspired by a walk along the beach on a blustery autumn afternoon, when the sun was shining but the skies overhead were black with rain clouds, the calm before the storm...

This is a lovely embroidered applique artwork, framed in solid oak, mounted and signed by East Anglian textile artist Heidi Meier. It depicts three beach huts on a quiet deserted beach, under a windswept and turbulent sky.
It makes a lovely Mother's day, birthday or anniversary gift, as it is original, unusual and looks great in many decors.
When you look at the picture, you'll realise how the picture is made over the course of many hours using a combination of hand embroidery, machine embroidery and free machine embroidery techniques. Various fabrics are combined in layers to build up the scene, translucent and shimmering fabrics being a trademark of Heidi's designs. These look fantastic in natural or artificial light.
The artwork is framed under glass with a solid oak frame that has a raised inside profile edge, and presented with an acid free cream conservation mount. It is a premium oak piece and the heavy weight is reflected in the postage, although of course it can be collected free of charge from our studio in Essex.
The overall picture size (ie including frame) is 505mm wide by 450mm high (c19.75 inches wide by 17 inches high).
