Whilst running in the Goyt valley, which is an area of Moorland just outside Buxton, I noticed mown areas in the heather which reminded me of fabric designed in the 1950's by Lucienne Day, Jacqueline Groag and others. I sketched berries and seed heads and from these cut abstract stencils which I screen printed by hand and scanned. I then took the design forward using computer assisted design tools.
