Full description
This is a beautiful print of a Wren on a page from a music book Mendelssohn. I found the book falling to pieces on the shelf in my local second hand book store and had to have it, the paper has a aged creamy texture and is perfect to print on.
This print features a little wren hand drawn by me then translated to a screen for printing.
Wrens are very active birds, especially in spring when male wrens will build several nests before the female chooses which one to use. The wren is a tiny brown bird. It is dumpy, almost rounded, with a fine bill, quite long legs and toes, very short round wings and a short, narrow tail which is sometimes cocked up vertically. For such a small bird it has a remarkably loud voice.
