Roomy and stylish, this is functional crochet at its finest. This bag has room for all your daily essentials, a book, and your current scarf or hat project. A small messenger flap closes the bag sturdily with a double button closure. Crocheted with a double strand of Patons Sorbet, a bulky, cotton-rich yarn, this bag is super sturdy and ready to stand up to the rigors of daily use.
PATTERN DETAILS:
DIMENSIONS: 12”x8” Across Bottom of Bag - Customize strap length to suit
SUGGESTED YARN: Any bulky (6 - 7wpi), Cotton-rich Yarn, Holding 2 Strands Together - Shown in Patons Sorbet, Approx. 400g/570yds.
OTHER YARN OPTIONS: Worsted Weight Peaches n Creme or Sugar and Cream 100% Cotton Yarn, but this will produce a slightly smaller bag as written. Approx. 280g.
HOOK: 6.5mm, US Size K or 6mm, US Size J for Worsted Weight Yarn
TOOLS: METAL Yarn Needle for weaving in ends
NOTIONS: 2 Buttons
LEVEL: Easy / Advanced Beginner
Instructions are given on how to alter bag size to desired dimensions.
Please note: This bag is incredibly sturdy and able to stand up to daily use, but to get it this way, the pattern is, as crochet goes, a physically demanding project. You will need a metal yarn needle - not plastic. In my case, I needed a pliers to pull the yarn needle!
