Love the way the wind, sea and the sand reveal the natural grain, colour and structure of the wood. Nature's own sculptor at its best!

Full description

A freestanding clock produced using driftwood collected from the beaches around the Berwick area of Northumberland. The wood has been oiled to bring out the natural grain of the timber and give it a natural sheen. Natural rope has been added for decoration. The clock is a quartz movement powered by an AA battery. Overall size H30cm x W25cm x D7cm approx.

Tide clocks are specially designed clocks that indicate the time until the next low or high tide. Knowing the cycle of the tides can be helpful for fishermen, water sports enthusiasts or anyone enjoying the coast (Driftwood collecting perhaps!).

A tide clock differs from a regular clock in that it operates on a cycle of 12 hours and 25 minutes, rather than on a 12-hour cycle. This is because it takes the moon around 24 hours and 50 minutes to circle the Earth.
