Inspired by the William Morris and William De Morgan artefacts at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and by the beauty of Japanese Prints.
The two Storks stand proud in front of a Japanese stylised chrysanthemum, found on Japanese printed Chiyogami paper.
This image developed from an original drawing of Storks in my sketchbook, and a fascination with floral patterns on Japanese Chiyogami paper. The colours of blue and cream were inspired by the painted fishing boats on a visit to Cornwall.
