Full description

Red Breasted Robin gocco print on a vintage book page. This is a gocco print of an original drawing of a European Robin done by my own fair hands! My mother found this book in a shop smelling of mould and damp and old men. The man behind the counter was closing down so she snapped it up for me.

It features an image of a European Robin hand drawn by me and then transferred on to a screen for gocco printing. Well known to British and Irish gardeners, it is relatively unafraid of people and likes to come close when anyone is digging the soil, in order to look out for earthworms and other food freshly turned up. Indeed, the robin is considered to be a gardener's friend and for various folklore reasons the robin would never be harmed.

measures 7.5 inches by 4.57 inches or 192mm x120mm for the metrically minded!
