Full description
This unusual mosaic depicts a nightime owl on a branch.
Each piece of glass has been handcut and placed with tweezers. It includes a mix of stained glass, some of which is textured (for the tree branch,) and irridescent for the leaves; and also vitreous glass and unglazed ceramic tiles. The eyes are lemon and lime coloured glitter tiles and the tail feathers include plum mirror glass..
The midnight blue sky has gold coloured streaks and is peppered with tiny millefiori stars. It has been grouted in mid grey.
This is on a handmade base and frame which has been sealed and painted cream. 2 D-rings and picture wire have been attached to the back so it's ready to hang, or alternatively prop on a shelf or mantlepiece for an eyecatching ornament.
Would make a great gift!
