My old second-hand copy of To Kill a Mockingbird couldn't cope with anymore readings and the first 20 or so pages fell out. I thought it was such a shame to throw away a book that had been loved and re-read by so many people so I was inspired to create a range of jewellery that uses the paper from damaged books to celebrate classic novels.

Treasure Island - parrot brooch
These bird shaped brooches are covered in original pages taken from my worn out copy of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic book. The areas of text shown on the brooch will vary, but are chosen to include important character names or well known quotes from the book.
Measurements: 4 x 9 cm / 1.5 x 3.5 inches
They are made from reclaimed board and sealed with several coats of durable varnish for protection and shine. They attach with a steel brooch pin.
Water-resistant but not water-proof.
