I am happiest outdoors looking at things. Each brooch is inspired by what I see when I'm out and about. I have always drawn and made images, I love illustration, It's a way of recording the magical in life. I see embroidery as another way of making a line. Making these brooches brings together all the things I enoy.
I tend to make a quick sketch then sew directly on to the background so the image stays lively, it changes as I sew, I don't like to plan too much!.

My brooches are one-offs with much care and thought going into each hand embroidered design
This one is a tiny lighthouse, it is 8cm wide and 6cm high.
Each one is well finished with a stitched felt back and pin and comes in a handmade fabric pocket to protect it
