Full description

This listing is for a brown and yellow ceramic biscuit jar.

Hand thrown on the wheel this ornate jar features a tapered form and large flamboyant knob carved from a solid piece of clay.

The lid shelf curves outward from the pot and the lid sits snugly on top. The shelf was created by gently curving the top of the pot outward during the throwing process.

The jar is glazed in transparent giving a soft honey beige colour. Sunny yellow splashes of slip decorate the body and lid of the pot.

Designed to be a distinctive and rustic sideboard piece it has a flat base and it's throwing rings remain - giving outside of the pot a gentle texture. Placing your hand on the jar you can feel where my hands have pulled the clay upwards during throwing.
