Back in the spring, I was admiring my sister's cherry blossom and making some sketches inspired by Japanese designs. I wanted to make a piece combining bobbin lacemaking techniques and traditional silversmithing and decided to contrast the shine of polished silver with the matte of woven cotton. The fine silver woven into the band gives it rigidity (although it is still flexible) and a subtle shimmer where the wire shows through.

Full description
A beautiful stylised cherry blossom and leaf made from pierced sterling silver are suspended on a flexible band woven using bobbin lace techniques and made from black cotton and fine silver wire. A hook and eye fastening complete this lightweight, elegant piece.
The blossom and leaf motif are 3.2cm across at the widest point, and the band and fastening are 17cm long and 0.5cm wide (0.9cm wide at the fastening). The whole piece weighs 6 grammes.
If you require a wrist band that is longer or shorter, please let me know the size and I can make one to your requirements- but I'll need a few days to do so, so the dispatch in this case would be 7 days rather than the standard 3 days.
As each of these bracelets is individually hand made, no two are exactly the same.
The piece will be supplied in a gift box made from recycled material.
