I originally made some stamps for my Artists Books and enjoyed it so much I made some more. I love birds and I love carving the stamps, so for me this is the perfect combination. I stamp the image as I carve and love seeing the picture of the lovely little bird emerge.
All stamps are hand cut by myself and printed using an inkpad and then stamped by hand. Basically a totally handmade process.
I have also hand cut the text "Hope is the thing with feathers". This is from my favourite Emily Dickinson poem and reminds me of all the joy that birds give me every day.
I typed the text on my lovely Silver-Reed Silverette Typewriter and scanned it in. Then I enlarged it to twice its size and transferred to the rubber. I used one of my favourite inkpads for the text - London Fog, a lovely grey coloured ink.

Long Tailed Tit, Hand Printed with Rubber Stamp Moleskine Notebook.

This print is made from a hand cut rubber stamp (Picture 2). This print process is very similar to lino printing except you use a block of rubber to carve instead of lino and you stamp by hand instead of using a printing press.
Please note because these are printed by hand some variations will occur.
