My daughter was very sensitive to the feel of things as a baby. We struggled to find her a doll to cuddle and play with, as plastic was just too hard and lots of cloth dolls were stuffed with polyester or had eyes and things that could come off. Eventually, I discovered the Steiner-Waldorf dolls and began making them. This is based on one of her favourite baby dolls, although I have stayed true to the method and materials - all organic, all 'natural' cotton and wool, using Westfalenstoffe velour for the basic clothing. We now have a littel family of baby dolls and putting them to bed or taking them on adventures in their slings are part of daily life. I hope you have fun with your doll too!

Full description
Joe is a tiny 6-inch long steiner-waldorf type doll. He is handmade and sewn using organic cotton jersey, wool and Westfalenstoffe velour clothing. He is not jointed but sits beautifully and has a crocheted mop of curly dark brown hair. Underneath, he has a brushed cotton nappy which his new owner can 'change' when needed!
My daughter loves her own tiny baby which is just the right size for carrying around in her jacket, sling or bag. Slings are also available to order, in a variety of cotton prints.
Custom dolls with different skin tones, eye colours, hair colours and of course clothing colours are available: please contact me for further information and let me know what your requirements are. I also make little dresses which can be customised for a special occasion, for example a naming or Christening ceremony.
They are made in a smoke-free, pet-free home environment with great care and love. Nothing compares to a handmade doll and you can be sure that your little one will come to no harm playing with their new best friend.
