A georgeous dark blue glass pendant made in a micro kiln & encouraged to form a bubble within to create this unusual & unique style of pendant.
Controling the bubble creation in the kiln is impossible I can only encourage the bubble to form. The appearance, size, shape & position is all down to nature!
This combines to create a georgeous & unique item that can't be duplicated.

The pendant itself measures around 28mm x 38mm high (including bail in height measurement). The pendant is completed with a hand wrapped bail created from silver plated wire, and comes complete witha silver plated chain measuring approximately 18inches and a gift box, for presentation & to protect it during postage.

Due to the nature of this item it cannot be repeated, and is truly unique as bubble formation is as individuial as a snowflake!

I love making items in my mini kiln, & particularly love the unpredicatability of creating 'bubbles'.
I like experimenting with using transluscent glass in jewellery. Traditionally, opaque materials are used against the skin, but I like the way the glass in the bubble area tends to lighten, causing the surrounding area to appear darker. This particular piece was so different it had to be made into a simple pendant. The way the colour seems to gather in the bubble & the corners. Creating a lighter area, almost a halo, around the bubble.

This is a good example of the glass doing what it wants naturally, with no other guidance from me other than the size of the piece, how long it's left in the kiln which dictates the finish & potential size of bubble. (If it forms one correctly!)
